Career Epidemiology Field Officer Program

Epidemiological expertise is essential for detecting, controlling, and preventing major health problems in a community. CDC’s Career Epidemiology Field Officer (CEFO) Program places experienced epidemiologists in state and local health departments across the country to help enhance public health preparedness by strengthening epidemiologic capacity. The program is managed by CDC’s Office of Public Health Preparedness and Response.

See map of CEFO field locations.
